COVID19 Eviction Prevention training with the Brooklyn Health & Housing Consortium

Hosted by the Brooklyn Health & Housing Consortium, Simone Meyer from LegalHealth will lead a training on COVID-19 Eviction Prevention on Tuesday, September 21st from 11:30am-1pm.
At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
– Understand the recently extended eviction moratorium law and how tenants can be protected by it through January 15, 2022;
– Recognize all of the protections in place for tenants in NYC, including applying for the COVID Emergency Rental Assistance Program, the Tenant Safe Harbor Act and Universal Access;
– Describe the basics of eviction proceedings and the rights of tenants with respect to their housing;
– Identify when legal assistance is needed and provide legal resources for tenants.
