Training: Housing Stability Tools for Aging Tenants

Please join the Brooklyn Health & Housing Consortium’s virtual training for frontline staff titled, “Housing Stability for Aging Tenants” on April 27th from 1-2:30pm.
This training provides information regarding the types of housing the elderly population resides in in NYC as well as the rental assistance and income maximization resources available to them to help stabilize their housing. The training will be led by Naji`a Tameez, Senior Staff Attorney at LegalHealth/NYLAG.
At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the variety and types of housing aging tenants reside in
2. Identify rental assistance programs that specifically support aging tenants
3. Discuss the importance of advanced directives in maintaining stable housing for aging tenants
4. Demonstrate how to reduce health care costs through Medicare Savings Programs and pooled trusts to maximize household income
