Training: Immigration as a Social Determinant of Health with the Brooklyn Health & Housing Consortium

Please join the Brooklyn Health & Housing Consortium’s virtual training for frontline staff titled, “Immigration as a Social Determinant of Health” on May 25, 2022 from 1-2:30pm. The training will be led by Monica Tulchinsky, Senior Staff Attorney at LegalHealth/NYLAG.

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:
– Understand the types of immigration statuses that patients/clients may have
– Describe immigrant eligibility for benefits with emphasis on Medicaid or PRUCOL eligibility
– Discuss the current immigration climate that patients/clients are facing and how to address their fears
– Identify tools to help immigrant patients and discuss when a legal referral is appropriate
