Training: Medicaid/HARP

June 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Navigating Medicaid in New York at any time can be daunting. But the end of the Public Health Emergency (PHE) is introducing new challenges – as of July 1st, automatic Medicaid renewals will end and tens of thousands of New Yorkers will have to prove their eligibility or risk losing their health coverage.

Please join the Mental Health Project (MHP) for an introduction to the multiple systems we refer to as Medicaid, an overview of Health and Recovery Plans (HARP), the return recertifications/renewals, and changes to pharmacy benefits for 2023.

The presentation is designed to:

  • Describe Medicaid systems visually and with plain language
  • Explain HARPs
  • Prepare staff to answer questions about recertifications/renewals
  • Clarify changes to how Medicaid recipients access prescriptions
  • Provide resources to answer future Medicaid-related questions

The intended audience for this training is: Case/Care Managers or Coordinators, Community Health Workers/Patient Navigators, Social Worker, Clinicians – RN, MD, etc., Academic/Researchers, Elected Officials/Representatives, Program Coordinators/Managers, Program Directors, and Executives. Other roles are of course welcome to attend!
