NYLAG's LegalHealth attorneys will provide an overview of the rights of tenants who are experiencing hazardous housing conditions that are effecting their health. The training will review the following:
Offer context for why the conditions of a tenant’s housing are so important to health
Review the laws that protect the rights of tenants to live free of health-harming conditions
Explore a health care professional’s role as an advocate to empower tenants to enforce their rights
Examine when legal intervention is necessary
The intended audience for this training is: Case/Care Managers or Coordinators, Community Health Workers/Patient Navigators, Social Worker, Clinicians - RN, MD, etc., Housing Specialist, and Program Coordinators/Managers. Other roles are of course welcome to attend!
